During my 3D animation studies at the HKU I've made a lot of drawings for Visual Development. Below you will find a small selection. Drawing isn't my strong suit by I've come to enjoy the learning process and bit by bit I can tell that I'm getting a little better.
During my internship at Virtual Play I rigged and weight painted several different animals (quadrupedes, fish and insects) so that the animators could later work on the animations without issue, all this for their new game: Hatchball. I quite liked doing the insect rig since it posed a bit more of a challenge for me to get it working properly than the basic quadrupedes.
As an admission assignment I was required to draw a character. I drew an overall picture, a position and a facial expression. I drew the lines with pencil and fineliner and used colour pencils for the colours.
As another admission assignment I made this 2 point perspective drawing. I used pencil for the lines and pastels for the colours. I tried using only warm and inviting colours inside to create a contrast with the cold and glum weather outside.
For one of my extra courses I was required to make a 5 second 2D rotoscope animation. I made this animation using Adobe Photoshop.
I wanted to do some posing with my first low poly character so I made an easy rig.
After I finished the model I decided to do some animations with it too. That's when I did this rig. It's a little different from the humanoid one because the knees are turned the other way. It took some figuring out but it definitely does the job well!
For one of my extra courses I was required to write a story and make a storyboard for it as well. The story was a little too long, said the teacher, so I only boarded out the first paragraph. Below you'll also find the story.

For my first project I was required to make a 2D platform game with some adapted sprites. I found some sprites online and adapted them using Adobe Photoshop.
Hero for the 2D platformer, added the lightning strikes
Enemy 1 for the 2D platformer, added the flames
Enemy 2 for the 2D platformer, added flames at it's hoves
Enemy 3 for the 2D platformer, added the explosions above
